2022 Perth USAsia Centre Annual Report
By Perth USAsia Centre
The Perth USAsia Centre is a leading foreign policy think tank focused on Indo-Pacific strategy. We foster stronger connections, educate and empower our government, business, academic and civil community to better understand the critical issues facing our region.
In 2022, with continued support from our partners, the Australian and Western Australian Governments, The University of Western Australia, the American Australian Association Limited, Rio Tinto, INPEX, Wesfarmers, Austal, Chevron and Woodside, the Centre continued its support of Australia’s Indo-Pacific engagement agenda, producing a steady stream of commentary, research and analysis.
With increased travel throughout 2022, the Centre reconnected with our neighbours across the Indo-Pacific, delivering a diverse program of events and producing resources for our community in Australia and throughout the region.
To expand the Centre’s reach and bring together new perspectives on the region’s most important issues, we were delighted to welcome to the team Research Director Dr Kate O’Shaughnessy and Principal Policy Fellow Dr Huong Le Thu.
Throughout 2022 we maintained our reputation for delivering high-calibre events. At our 40 events hosted during the year, an audience of over 2,000 from across 60 countries took the opportunity to hear insights and expert analysis from more than 110 thought leaders representing 11 nations.
