National Reconciliation Week 2024

On Thursday 30 May 2024, the Centre’s First Nations Foreign Policy Fellow, Sarah Leary, was proud to speak to an event for Reconciliation Week to members of Perth’s diplomatic corps, hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in partnership with the WA Museum Boola Bardip.

In her remarks, Ms Leary shared how each of us can prioritise and support Australia’s Reconciliation journey through truth-telling, learning and knowledge-sharing. She shared unique examples of Western Australia’s aboriginal communities engaging with Australia’s international agenda and acknowledged the leadership role these communities are playing in restoring threads of connection with communities in Southeast Asia.
