Report Launch Webinar: Activating the Australia-US-Japan Infrastructure
The Perth USAsia Centre held a public webinar launch on May 19 for our latest publication, Advancing the Australia-US Japan infrastructure partnership through private sector engagement.
Developing countries in the Indo-Pacific are in dire need of critical infrastructure to support their burgeoning markets and populations. Australia, the US, and Japan have launched trilateral efforts to bridge the infrastructure gap but recognise they require private sector buy-in to increase their impact. However, the private sector has not been interested in partnering with government. Why is this?
The report by Hayley Channer examined the Australia-US-Japan infrastructure partnership, identified the remaining barriers to public-private infrastructure partnerships, and recommended solutions for government.
This webinar featured Hayley Channer, Gordon Flake, Ritika Passi and Kyle Springer, who engaged in discussion around infrastructure development in the Indo-Pacific and what can be done to assist the growing need for hard and soft infrastructure across the region.
