Professor Gordon Flake recently spoke with Andrew Hunter, Strategic Advisor at the Minderoo Foundation, to discuss Andrew’s previous role as General Manager for China Engagement at the Port Adelaide Football Club and the release of his new book, Port Adelaide to Shanghai: Taking Australia’s Game to the World. Their conversation focussed on the value of sports diplomacy to international relations even in the COVID era, and in particular what role AFL clubs and sports teams in general can play in improving Australia-China engagement.
