Luncheon with the Honourable Richard V Spencer

The Perth USAsia Centre hosted a luncheon with the Honourable Richard V Spencer, Global Chair at Bondi Partners and Former Secretary of the US Navy.

Mr Spencer joined us to discuss US-Australia cooperation on defence in the Indo-Pacific, including opportunities under AUKUS and the future trajectory of the Alliance.

Biography

Mr Spencer was the 76th Secretary of the US Navy, sworn into office in August 2017 and served until November 2019. Through his appointment his career came full circle having served in the US Marine Corps following his university graduation where he proudly served as an H-46 (Phrog) pilot until 1981.

After leaving active duty, he began a successful career in finance having worked on Wall Street for 16 years, before becoming President of Crossroads Investment Management LLC, then Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE-ICE) and later Managing Director of Fall Creek Management LLC which helps enhance private companies through capital investment and advice .

Mr Spencer provides Bondi Partners with high-level insights and strategic advice to support the firm’s global direction and help our clients achieve their Trans-Pacific goals. He is also Managing Director of Pallas Ventures, an investment fund focusing on developing technologies with compelling national security applications.
