Dr Lisa Cluett

Dr Lisa Cluett is the Chief Engagement Officer at the Perth USAsia Centre, where she leads the Centre’s strategies for education, outreach, stakeholder engagement, communications and content. In this role, Lisa drives initiatives that strengthen relationships and capability building across the Indo-Pacific region by overseeing innovative programs across the Centre.

She is primarily responsible for the designing and delivering the centre’s online courses including the micro-credential courses for adults and high school students and tailored courses covering Indonesia, Korea and Australia. 

Lisa brings more than 20 years of experience in strategy development, online engagement, community building, corporate governance and program evaluation. Her career spans diverse sectors, beginning in television at Channel Ten in Sydney and progressing through academic and leadership roles following the completion of her PhD in environmental science in northern Australia.  

Her contributions to education and engagement have been widely recognised, including a UWA Award for Excellence in the Provision of Support to Students and a National Citation from the Australian Office of Learning and Teaching (ALTC) for innovative online community building. In 2020, Lisa was named a national finalist in the Defence Connect Marketing and Communications Professional of the Year Awards. 

Lisa is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently serves on the governing bodies of Perth City Farm and the Australia Japan Society of WA. She has produced more than 20 reviewed papers and conference presentations covering online teaching, social media and learner engagement and in 2025 co-authored her first book “Spiral of silence in the social media era” published by Springer.
