Indo-Pacific Explainer: Cambodia
Although Cambodia is a small country, its foreign policy decisions directly affect Australia’s interests. Cambodia is located in Southeast Asia, a region critical to Australia’s security and prosperity. It is also part of the region’s central multilateral organisation and key partner for Australia, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). As one of the fastest growing economies in the region, Cambodia offers significant trade and investment opportunities for Australian businesses. Finally, there are also over 57,000 people of Cambodian origin living in Australia.
