2024 Perth USAsia Centre Annual Report

2024 has been a challenging year for us all, from deepening conflict in the Middle East and instability in the Indo-Pacific, to growing questions about how we regulate and harness emerging technologies like AI for global good. Here in Western Australia, we continue to think deeply about the state’s role in delivering the first decade of the AUKUS agreement, and in the global energy transition.

As the Perth USAsia Centre concludes its 11th year of operation, grappling with these complex questions has only further convinced us of the power of collaboration, and of community – two features of the Centre’s work with which we have been particularly blessed, both here in Australia and across the Indo-Pacific.
