Roundtable with Anil Kumar Nayar

The Perth USAsia Centre was delighted to host the Singapore High Commissioner to Australia, His Excellency Mr Anil Kumar Nayar, on Thursday 23 March 2023 for a private roundtable discussion. 
 
The roundtable brought together members of the Singaporean diaspora, the business community, and academia, to discuss the state of the bilateral relationship.
 
As one of our closest regional neighbours, and deeply integrated into the global trading system, Singapore shared Australia’s goals for stability in the Indo-Pacific. Given the strength of the bilateral relationship and our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, discussion centred on opportunities for cooperation. This included working together in areas such as the green economy, food security, cyber security and leveraged people-to-people links. 

With  30 years of experience in the Singaporean foreign service, the High Commissioner brought deep insight to discussion on Singapore’s domestic challenges and Southeast Asian perspectives on US- China competition.
 
Participants also sought the High Commissioner’s views on regional supply chain security and Western Australian business opportunities.
