Dr Pia Dannhauer
Dr Pia Dannhauer is the Centre’s Senior Research Fellow: Southeast Asia and Indo-Pacific Security.
Pia is an Associate at the German Institute for Security and International Affairs. Her research focuses on Germany’s and Europe’s relations with Southeast Asia.
From 2023 to 2025, she was a resident Research Associate at the Perth USAsia Centre, where she led the Centre’s research and programs on Southeast Asia.
Pia completed a PhD on Indonesian foreign policy at Griffith University in Brisbane in 2023. She speaks German, English, Italian, and Indonesian.
