North-by-Northwest: Australia’s Export Future

On 5 May 2022, the Perth USAsia Centre was pleased to present a public event with Madeleine King MP, Shadow Minister for Trade and Resources. The event was held at the University Club and was also live-streamed.

In recent years, the Australian economy has faced significant challenges. Supply chain disruptions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, paired with coercive trade practices have redefined the international trading environment. Australian exports have borne the brunt of these challenges, causing many exporters to re-evaluate their participation in the global market.

As we enter a new era of economic engagement, Australia must reassess its export future to meet the growing challenges of an evolving international market. Madeleine King will join us to discuss Australia’s export future and participation in an open, inclusive and sustainable trading system.
