Bella Benjamin

Promotion and Communications Officer

Bella believes good communication is at the heart of building community and connection. With varied experiences across the creative realm, she brings a unique perspective to the Perth USAsia Centre.

Over the past decade, her diverse career has included roles as a radio host, bridal stylist, hand model, actor, on-screen presenter, filmmaker, and marketing manager. Her design company, 1800-Big-Ideas, achieved overnight success in New York City during Covid-19 lockdowns, collaborating on projects for singer/songwriter Gallant and Creed: The Musical (off-off-Broadway).

Passionate about food and wellness, Bella is certified in Holistic Nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Healing Nutrition in London. In 2022, she published her first recipe book, inspired by her time with the academy. In 2017, her culinary creativity won her a trip to New York with China Southern Airlines.

Having travelled extensively, she is well-versed in cross-cultural communication. For over 15 years, she has supported and volunteered with non-profits in Rwanda, India, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Cambodia. Before returning to Perth to join the Centre, she spent two years living and working abroad in Canberra, Tokyo, Hoi An, and Timor-Leste.

Bella enjoys cooking, visiting farmers’ markets, scenic walks and runs (in 2023, she hiked the Camino de Santiago solo—best thing she ever did!), writing, painting, and listening to true crime podcasts. She studied Media & Communications and Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia, before pursuing Theatre & Voice Production, Indo-Javanese Garden Design, and Singaporean-Chinese History at the National University of Singapore.
