Online Public Forum with Global Pandemic Expert Jane Halton AO PSM

The Perth USAsia Centre hosted an online public discussion with one of Australia and the world’s leading health policy and pandemic experts, Jane Halton AO PSM.

Jane, a member of the Australian Prime Minister’s National COVID-19 Coordination Commission, is also Chair of the global epidemic vaccine body the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). In the search for a COVID-19 vaccine, five of the world’s 15 COVID-19 clinical trial programs are CEPI-funded, including clinical trials now underway in Perth.

Well before the evolution of COVID-19 into a global pandemic, Jane has played a crucial role in Australia’s public health management and in the development of global health policies. Her distinguished civil service career includes senior health policy roles in Australia and abroad, including as Chair of the Board of the World Health Organisation, and Secretary of the Department of Health.
