Invest and Trade Western Australia Showcase
On 18 October, the Perth USAsia Centre held an evening event with the Deputy Premier Roger Cook and the State’s newly appointed Agent General, John Langoulant AO, alongside the Investment and Trade Commissioners across the Government’s overseas office network.
This was an opportunity to hear from the Deputy Premier about the Western Australian Government’s investment and trade priorities, and to meet with the Agent General and other Commissioners to discuss specific market opportunities before they are deployed to locations including London, Tokyo, Singapore later this year. The Western Australian Government moved to a regional ‘hub and spoke’ model for the overseas offices network in 2020, with the eight overseas offices grouped into five regional hubs: ASEAN, China, India-Gulf, North East Asia and UK/Europe.
The Agent General and Commissioners are supported by Invest and Trade Western Australia, a free service providing a ‘front door’ for investors, both from interstate and overseas, interested in doing business in Western Australia as well as small to medium enterprises that want assistance to reach their export potential.
The event was hosted by the Perth USAsia Centre on behalf of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
