At the same time, the region is shaped by conflict hotspots such as the Taiwan Strait and North Korea, that drive closer security cooperation between like-minded partners. Our engagement with this vital region focuses on strengthening and diversifying Australia’s economic ties while contributing to broader efforts to support peace and stability across Northeast Asia.
