Event details
On 4 November, 2025, the Perth USAsia Centre hosted a roundtable discussion with H.E. Jeff Robinson, Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea.
South Korea is one of Australia’s most trusted and valued partners in the Indo-Pacific region. Bound by a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two share a deep commitment to regional peace and security, collaborate on cutting-edge research, and maintain a crucial partnership in energy and critical minerals.
Amid threats from North Korea, domestic political shifts, and a rapidly shrinking population, strong partners like Australia are essential to South Korea as it navigates ongoing challenges.
Attendees engaged in a thoughtful discussion on the shared challenges Australia and South Korea face, future opportunities in investment, green steel, and critical minerals, and the crucial role Western Australia plays in the bilateral relationship.
