2019’s Japan Symposium consisted of a half-day private dialogue with 20 strategic thinkers for a high-level discussion on the role of Australia, Japan, and ASEAN in the Indo-Pacific region, and a public event attended by 128 guests featuring 6 speakers. The Symposium examined the idea that Australia and Japan have a role to play in helping ASEAN adopt the Indo-Pacific concept, which in turn will contributing to a more cohesive, secure, and stable region.
