Dr Andrew Dowse AO
Dr Andrew Dowse AO is a former Air Vice-Marshal of the Royal Australia Air Force, having held general officer positions as the Defence J6, as well as in strategy and planning, and in capability development. He is an electronic engineer with a Masters and PhD in computer science from the University of New South Wales. After retiring from active service, he was the director for defence research at Edith Cowan University, then was the first Australian CEO of RAND Australia. He now is an adjunct senior researcher with RAND and a principal research adviser to the Perth USAsia Centre on defence strategy. Additionally Andrew is the Vice President of RAAFA WA, an Ex-Service Organisation with substantial responsibilities in veteran care, and the Deputy Chair of its Board.
