The Perth USAsia Centre in collaboration with the United States Studies Centre provides a variety of innovative programs for undergraduate students to gain practical international experience and a better understanding of the United States. Students have the opportunity to live, study, and work in Los Angeles and Washington, DC. These global experiential learning programs are offered during the summer and winter holiday breaks. This unique setup allows students to accelerate their degrees by earning credit points outside of the regular semester.
UCLA STUDY ABOARD PROGRAM
The UCLA Study Abroad Program runs through June and July each year and provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to study at the University of California, Los Angeles; ranked 14th in the 2016–17 Times Higher Education world university rankings. Students choose from hundreds of courses offered by UCLA from a variety of disciplines.
L.A. AND WASHINGTON D.C. PLACEMENT PROGRAM
The Perth, USAsia Centre and United States Studies Centre runs the Los Angeles Placement Program in partnership with the University of California Los Angeles Extension (UCLA Extension). Designed for aspiring business leaders, the program not only equips students with the leadership skills to give them a competitive advantage in the workforce, but also with an in-depth understanding of the complexities of American business. This program runs from January to March each year. The Washington DC Placement Program runs from January to March each year, and is part of the University of California Washington Center (UCDC). The program provides students the unrivalled opportunity to live in the seat of American power and witness firsthand the interaction of government and business.
