By RSIS

This policy report is born of the 2017 S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) workshop titled “The Trump Era and the Trade Architecture in Asia Pacific”, which brought together experts in international political economy and trade from Australia, China, Japan, Singapore and the United States to discuss the transformation of the global and regional trade orders.

Perth USAsia Centre Research Fellow Dr Jeffrey Wilson contributed a chapter titled Middle Powers in the Asia-Pacific: Australia, Korea and Indonesia which explores how the Asia-Pacific’s middle powers will respond to the new trade environment after the “Trump Shock”.
