Speaker John A. Boehner Geostrategy Videoconference

John A. Boehner, the former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and now Senior Strategic Advisor at global law and public policy firm Squire Patton Boggs, joined the Perth USAsia Centre and Squire Patton Boggs Australia in Squire’s Perth Office Boardroom via live videoconference from Ohio.
- John A. Boehner served as the 53rd Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives (2011-2015), representing the people of Ohio’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House for nearly 25 years.
- Speaker Boehner is now a Senior Strategic Advisor at Squire Patton Boggs, advising clients in the U.S. and abroad and focuses on global business development. Speaker Boehner joined Squire Patton Boggs in September 2016.
- Speaker Boehner discussed with the distinguished participants at the videoconference his views on a range of regional economic and strategic issues, including the challenges of the North Korean regime’s nuclear program, the politics of regional trade and investment and the importance of the Australian-U.S. alliance.
- Speaker Boehner expressed a willingness to travel to Perth to be welcomed by Squires’ Perth Office and the Perth USAsia Centre for a future discussion.
