In February 2018, the Perth USAsia Centre hosted a closed-door conference in Perth focusing on the concept of the Indo-Pacific region. Bringing together 26 distinguished experts from around the region - drawn from the academic, policy and think-tank worlds - the event asked participants to explore the prospects for cooperation in the new era of Indo-Pacific regionalism. Discussion was guided by the following questions:
Over the course of a full-day workshop, the group had an extensive and in-depth discussion of these matters. This report provides a summary of these discussions, and recommendations to advance international cooperation within the emerging Indo-Pacific construct.
